Every Irish government has been led by FF or FG. At the time of writing the government is a coalition between both of them and the Greens.
They are pretty similar in ideology, but FG are more socially liberal/progressive - which is possibly a surprise when they were party that the quasi-fascist blueshirts went into. The catholic church's influence on FF was always excessive though.
