When was the iconic Routemaster bus first introduced in London?
Correct answer: 1954

Jackie
I used to love riding on the old routemasters in the 80s. One could risk life and limb jumping on while they were moving and jumping off when they paused at traffic lights or got stuck on traffic. There are only a few around now on active service. I think they are still used on the number 11 route which goes past a number of tourist spots such as St Paul's Cathedral, Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.

Here in Scotland, when I was young the local council workers, who fixed the houses and roads, used this as a travelling workshop.

Designed so that the engine could be completely replaced between morning and afternoon rush hours. Also, I believe they were the first form of buses with heating for the passengers. Used to hang off the back platform on my way to school. Happy days. Grandad was a clippie on them, so fond memories.

Why I don’t do correct Answer ??

Player SQinfoNUTS,
It’s a standard keyboard arrangement.
I don’t understand why you think it is rather limited.
The punctuation comes when you tap the number key .
But you know this because you are using fullstops. Just use the other punctuation marks.

Not the original Routemasters

A scout group I was with was donated one & renovated then used it for years: I got to ride in it many times but knew them as I was a kid in London- red rover tickets 😀

MadMarcus1812, they had to remove them, as they are not Wheelchair friendly,
I enjoyed them too, but they could also be Accidents waiting to happen,
but Needing to Use a Wheelchair, the Newer Models are better for Wheelchair users,
and I can travel with family, just not fellow Wheelchair users, as the buses only allows one Wheelchair on at a time, some trains, you can end up on different ends of carriages, most of the Train have Wheelchair access now, so you can enjoy travelling, if Family or friends in wheelchairs too,
the Disabled only want to be included, Not Excluded, Thank you,

Maria ♡
Ignazia11, in some ways I agree, but since needing a Wheelchair to get around, the Newer Buses, that do not Cram the space for a Wheelchair to fit into,
as Some so called Wheechair Spaces are a joke to get in to,

Ignazia11, my question for you please is not how you know all this stuff. I respect that a great deal. my question for you is how do you manage to get all the spelled correctly and punctuated correctly within the confines of this rather limited system we have to reply. Thank you so very much for your kind attention to this matter. Peace be with you

JealousOrc72952
