Hiqq
Come on US, it's not that difficult... 😉

Dave Wheeldon ll, funny thing is the US uses the metric system in over 99% of manufacturing. Cars, weapons, rockets, etc. All metric

Great for the USA. It is great to know both systems however one get used to the system one was brought up with. Most difficult for me was visual. I could approxiate 50 feet accurately but 50 meters I have a problem with. Age probably has a play in this field !

Hiqq, yea you would think sending/crashing a satellite to the wrong planet would be reason to change. true story NASA did it. root cause was measurements were converted incorrectly

About 1/3 of questions use imperial measures. So these questions are written by americans?

The US seems like a whole different world. Not in a good way.

I believe it would be much easier if everybody knew the metric system bc it would help assist them in everyday life, especially if you’re traveling from the states to the UK and other countries abroad.
Nothing
Player #25874027, 50mm x 25mm simple. Fact is 2x1 is more like 53mm x 38mm so the term is wrong. It’s old fashioned people using the term boy the suppliers.

Those are base units

Player #7719043, I found out the hard way that a 2x2 is actually 1.5 x .75. Since when is it ok to flub these measurements.

Player #25874027, they do use the letters K and W although not often.

Always amuses me that the French have come up with a system using kilograms, (kgs,)and kilometres (kms )
and they don’t actually use the letter K.
And they must love the internet.
They don’t use W either.

Knodel1966,
Go buy some wood.
You ask for 100 metres of 2x1.
2x1 is an Imperial inch measurement
Player #24358685
ironically, for all its "precision," the French miscalculated the distance from pole to pole and, as a result, the meter is wrong. So come on, world!

And Canada!!

Player #1489294, not great being stuck in the datks ages where measurement is concerned

In the UK we kind of have both. Weights and measures are metric, generally, but roadsigns are in miles (and fractions of). Most people say their height and weight in imperial too, but interchange with metric. Weird.

the thing is not many people talk about Kelvin for general temperatures, most people refer to centigrade now. Kelvin is used more in the sciences

The refusal to switch is just another way the U.S. flunts it's stubborn, lazy, teenage attitude!
