Loved that show. The actors and actresses in it really seemed like a real family of that era. And loved some of the side characters like the Baldwin sisters.

docdebbielove1
Such a wholesome family show. Miss those.

That show was actually miserable, I mean let's face it set during depression people were getting electricity turned off, loosing their house or dying from illnesses because they couldn't afford medicine to save them.

Growing up in the country for me was almost exactly like the Waltons… a one-room school in the back room of the church, a general store that had a big glass case with candy in it and you could buy a plow in the back… treehouses and ponds to swim in, horses to ride, and every one of your neighbors looked out for you and you for them… an idyllic childhood😀

Terri
I have it playing right now. It plays every night while I’m sleeping. I absolutely love the Waltons!

MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SHOW ON TELEVISION!!!
I LOVE HOW THIS FAMILY PORTRAYED REAL LIFE SITUATIONS AND CAME TOGETHER TO HELP EACH OTHER AND BE THERE FOR EACH OTHER!
SHOWS LIKE THIS DON’T EXIST ON TV IT’S SAD, WE NEED WHOLESOME SHOWS LIKE THIS BUT IN TODAY’S WORLD A SHOW LIKE THIS WOULDN’T THRIVE
PEOPLE TODAY LOVE SHOWS WITH SEX PRIMARILY, VIOLENCE, USE OF BAD LANGUAGE, NUDITY, etc That’s what sells and people buy in to it sadly 2Timothy3:1-5 describes people’s characteristics exactly today

Terrie, I started watching after the episode when John Boy harassed by the frat boys his first year in college. Something about John Boy got on my nerves

hummbabe00, Chance was the Waltons' cow. The Brady Bunch's dog was Tiger. I also need to get a life, lol (and yes, I know your comment was posted 3½ years ago)!

Back then, a lot of shows were not only entertaining but also educational, it teaches us family values and teaches us characters. I grew up with shows from Brady Bunch to Bonanza. I learned family values from Brady Bunch and characters from Bonanza. The Waltons also taught family values.
