I suffer from Thrombocytopaenia - or low platelet count. This means that my blood doesn’t clot well. So I must avoid blood thinning meds like aspirin & ibuprofen. Poor clotting could be an issue should I need an operation.

I recently acquired Dengue Fever here in the Philippines and my platelets dropped dangerously low because of it. I was running a very high fever (104°F) prior to diagnosis and was taking aspirin to lower it, that's a big No-No as it was releasing even more platelets from my capillaries. Lesson learned: Tylenol for fever from here on out!

Marcus Space Cadet, You should avoid garlic, too. Onions, maybe. Apparently they are natural blood thinners. Also, I had one type of inhaler for asthma that gave me twice as many bruises on my legs than I usually have. I have von Willebrand's disease.
