Bobotie is the national dish of which country?
Correct answer: South Africa

Had to look up asafotida (most comonly called Hing in the southern hemisphere). Sounds like an interesting spice that I'd like to try someday. It comes from a large fennel-type plant & is used sparingly with other spices & has anti-gaseous properties.

Bobotie contains raisins and chutney (also famous in South Africa!) and is eaten with yellow rice that is coloured by adding tumeric.

I'm South African. Bootie certainly is NOT a national dish.. But it's popular with our indigenous Cape population

happydoghappycat, Actually, it did say "THE" national dish...

Cy#2
happydoghappycat, the question does say a "national dish" of which country and since Bobotie is a South African dish, it therefore implies it as a national dish. If anything you could argue that it didn't say "THE national dish.

happydoghappycat
Grumpy Fossil, it doesn't say it's the national dish. Also it said the pine nuts and asafoetida are in the Patinam Ex Lacte dish and didn't say it's in Bobotie
