What is the meaning of the sentence "My very excellent mother just served us nine pies"?
Correct answer: It is a mnemonic phrase

Player Ejag
I love mnemonics!! While teaching 5th grade, I had the class make up a mnemonic sentence to remember words they misspelled—then draw a picture to illustrate it. Resulted in many original, amusing pictures! One of my faves was “Tom eats rotten rats on rye” for terror. The drawing was one to remember!😀

I always heard "Sargent Major hates eating onions" for the Great Lakes.
"Red, orange, yellow, then green followed by blue. Indigo and Violet, that's a rainbow song for you" works for me, because I can still remember the musical tune that goes with it - you can learn something from watching PBS kids shows even at my advanced age.
