Have seen him live 3x, twice back in 1978 when he was still doing stand-up. The last time was a few years ago with the Stone Canyon Rangers. Damn, he's a monster banjo player! If you get the chance, go see him play. Brilliant!

I met Steve Martin in the 1960s at Steel Pier in Atlantic City, NJ. He was with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and played banjo with them. His hair was black back then!! I was 11 or 12 years old and he was so nice to me!
