Player #7106191, they were all good. The sad thing is cartoons like the old Tom and Jerry cartoons are no longer made, these new cartoons are not a patch on the old ones, they are rubbish. I used to enjoy the old Scooby Doo until they introduced Scrappy Doo into the mix then it all went down hill.

Classic cartoons like Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry far surpass modern cartoons like Family Guy and South Park. Just goes to show you that just because something is a cartoon doesn't mean it's good for kids.

We lived in the USA for a year, back in '67-'68 (my dad was a mathematics professor and did an exchange lectureship at the University of Illinois for a year, so we were in Champaign Urban's from August '68 to August '69) and my brothers and I loved the Saturday morning cartoons, from 07:00 til midday. It's such a shame that kids can't see them anymore, they were wonderful, funny and entertaining. I really don't believe the violence harmed anybody, it's so obviously exaggerated. And if it did, it would have to be someone with a predisposition towards violent behaviour in the first place, so banning them doesn't help, it just deprives the majority for the sake of a tiny minority.

I love Tom and Jerry. I am an old man now BUT I still watch them. They crack me up.

I always preferred the Warner Bros cartoons. Mel Blanc was a brilliant voice artist (he did ALL the WB characters' voices!). Their names changed after the first flick. Jasper was the name of the cat and Jinx the name of the mouse. They weren’t made for children. They were a short before a movie that featured colored comedy of the time including vaudeville references. Mammy Two Shoes is one example. The few that continue to be seen these past decades are edited or shorts that stayed timeless and appropriate, like Jerry dancing with Gene Kelly, well worth looking up for its quality, to go from the silver screen to television.

Player #4250921, How is Family guy a cartoon? It is animated but it isn't for kids. And how is Family guy a modern cartoon? First episode of Family guy was before 2000, that's not modern to me. And if you think modern as they still make new episodes, well Bugs Bunny also has new episodes. I admit that new episodes are not as good as old ones, but they are still better than whatever kids these days watch
