We need to develope a similar transportation system here in the U.S., folks are too selfish & won't give up the convenience & privacy of their cars. We need a whole mind-set change, and I just don't see it happening.

captainpokeymunky568, most I've been on average probably 220km/h when cruising but I have been on them close to 270. They are capable of 300 (190 mph) There is one which is separate to Shinkansen which can hit upwards of 550km/h.

It is probably a great idea except the part where it has to go thru someone's property in rural areas. It was fought in an area of Texas a few years back, not to allow it.
