How many officially bilingual countries are there in the Americas?

Just googled, Peru has 2 official languages. Lost a life because of a wrong answer that wasent wrong.

While Federally Canada recognizes two official languages (English and French), the Province of Quebec only recognizes one. French. It is probably the only jurisdiction in the world which feels the need to have a Language Law

Clueless - only one for the whole country - in some areas quechua aymara etc. are just locally accepted

It’s four languages: Canada speaks English and French. Central America: Spanish and South America: Spanish and Portuguese.
