Erwin Rommel was a great general. I'm not one to support the Nazis, but Erwin Rommel was one of the good ones. The only reason Montgomery managed to defeat him is because the British had a lot more equipment and men. Rommel was also forced to support the incapable Italians for a long duration of his campaign.
