What type of animal is Gloria in the animated film "Madagascar"?

I guess I've got to start more kids movies and shows.

I love the Madagascar movies!! especially the 2nd one and the 3rd one definitely!! such good movies!!

I never have seen this movie, but too bad that I figured that the answer would be a female's name. Seems like hippos and other fat animals are oftentimes female.
