In the spring of 2020, why is the canal water in Venice appearing clearer?

I feel like sentiment can't sink to the bottom, sediment perhaps though

I think the word is sediment. Although sentiment can sink pretty well.

My daughter lived there for several years and she told me that they clean the canals periodically.
