My wife often speaks in codes and I have seldom been able to break them. I'm still trying after 42 years.

Player #8367749, There is a fantastic film called the Imitation Game, we went to watch in 2014 when it came out here in the uk. It's about Alan Turing building the Enigma machine at Bletchley Park. It's very interesting and well worth a watch.

So the source that says the book is fascinating is... the author's own website. Fascinating!

How interesting. Along the same lines is the historical fiction series about Maggie Hope, a graduate of Wellesley, who becomes Mr. Churchill's Secretary. She saves the prime minister by code breaking.

Sailor Blue, Hey, men do that too. And kids. Pretty much every one has had a ‘nothing’ moment from time to time.

Why does this question not stipulate that it is referring to USA codebreakers? I happened to answer correctly because I remember being told at Bletchley Park when I visited that when recruiting they had looked for those who enjoyed crosswords. But the addition of engagement was confusing especially as the question did not mention specifically female candidates. Please amend this question for fairness to non-USA players.

Cha Cha, great movie, but the Enigma was the machine used by Nazis for coded communication. Alan Turing built the decoder machine for the Enigma machine :)
