Where did the Bic pen get its name?

To add a bit more detail, he bought the patent from László Bíró who patented the first commercially successful ballpoint pen which had been invented about 50 years beforehand by John J Loud from Massachusetts.

Agree, great info. Also, a Bic pen was very effectively used by Matt Damon in the film, The Bourne Identity. (I would advise doing same only under most extreme circumstances.)

Player 34082658--My first day on the job after I had moved to Australia a co-worker came up to me and said "give us a lend of your Biro". I had no idea what she meant. I had thought living in Sydney would be easy because they spoke the same language.

I was a COP for thirty-five years. Many speeders drove off with my Bic pen and a ticket. I guess they thought they were getting the last laugh. HaHa, I bought them by the carton.

Ballpoint pens are okay but I much prefer a good fountain or gel pen.

That Cøunt, Ray Bumpkin, my 1st ball point pen was a Biro, and looked like a fountain pen, but I wasn't allowed to use it in school.
