Player #10381263 ber, the reason meat tenderize works is because it contains papain, from papaya. Therefore if you are stung in a part of the world that has papaya, such as Mexico, Hawaii, etc just rub a slice of that on the sting for the same effect.

My son was stung by a jellyfish in Ibiza when he was 5, I used vinegar as advised but no one said anything about pulling the stingers out. He still had raised white lines 2 years later, bless him

your wrong about sea water, this does not make it worse. Freshwater does. hot water is better for venomous stings from stonefish, lionfish, at 42 degrees via a cloth

You should not pull off the tentacles. Putting vinegar on them makes them let go and then you can remove them.

got stung by box jelly at Kealakekua Bay, hawaii .went to er at kona hospital. was treated by doctor with adolphs meat tenderize, active ingredient is papaeine extract of green papaya.

PhreshPhish, Thank you for your valuable input.. I am from the Coastal Region of India... We get to see a lot of jellyfish along the beach and so do papayas grow in India... and I personally did not know how Papaya could be of help with a Jelly fish sting
