My backyard! A huge beaver dam, reputed to be 40 years old, broke during Hurricane Michael, and the creek on my property became a raging river! The beavers rode some of the timber like wood surfboards down the flood waters!

Several years ago in Utah, a beaver dam was the only thing that protected a large part of the Great Salt Lake from an upstream oil spill. The vet clinic where I worked treated some of the beavers that were exposed to the oil.
