Well, it's true lunch break is more important in France than in most countries (I'm French living in Netherlands) but saying that no one would pick up a call is slightly overstated. Probably true before cellphone existed though

I actually experienced this when I went to France. Yes, and they also drink wine or beer at noon! The USA might fire you for doing that on your lunch break!

In Canada some places they get only 30 minutes or maximum one hour.
I have seen some people eating while walking. What a difference from France.

Different to UK where a lot of people are expected to eat lunch at their desks whilst working/have lunchtime meetings while eating - managers tend to have the attitude that they have to do this so why shouldn't their staff? Very bad for stress levels...

deebea, right? Took me 3 days to eat 1 lunch. Lineup to wash hands, lineup to get to lunch room or use appliances. I ate 1\3 each day!
