I had a 1975 Firebird Formula, similar to the 1974 model in the picture. You can tell the difference by the rear window.

I owned a black Pontiac Trans Am with a red velour interior and wheels like the car in the photo. it had the screaming eagle on the hood and a 100 watt stereo. I loved that car

Player #48023088, Don't forget Jim Garner's Firebird on Rockford files, lol! He wrecked one every other episode!

VolinPhoenix, Yup. I'm driving my 12th, and last Lincoln town car. They quit making them. In 2011. It is 25 years old, no repairs. When the guy at O'Reillys put new wiper blades on, he asked to look under the hood. lol! Took photos. It looks like it just rolled out of a show room. But I learned to driveat 12 in dad's Plymouth Fury III with that huge engine, lol. Cops never said anything. I drove better than Drunk Daddy. 😁

Lionessa, I remember the DPS muscle cars. I saw one once in South Texas. They would have made a good recruiting/PR tool with high schoolers.

During the 1970s, I lived briefly in East Texas. At the time, the TX Dept of Public Safety (Highway Patrol) had three Pontiac Trans Ams on I-20, used for chasing down drug runners. I don't know what year they were, but they had the hood Eagle and "IROC" on the trim. My first car was a green '69 model with black vinyl roof and white interior. I loved my Firebird. Somehow, I only got one speeding ticket in that car.

Lionessa
I got curious from my own mention of "IROC" on certain kinds of Firebirds. International Race of Champions, which was a race where drivers from different racing series (NASCAR, Indy car, Formula 1) would drive identically produced cars like the Trans Am, Mustang, and other muscle cars to test pure driving skill. I don't like car racing, but I would watch that. "IROC" on a Trans Am meant it was a version built for even more speed.

This car reminds me of Starsky and Hutch.

My very 1st Car was a Red Pontiac Firebird so this question was easy for me 😆

there's several American car companies that have went away fairly recently, Pontiac after 2010, Mercury after 2011, Oldsmobile after 2005, Hummer, Saturn to name a few, sad!

Lainie
I had a 1974 firebird 350 with no pollution blocker and flowmaster pipes. I miss it more than some people lol

TerryThai
My first car was a 1962 Pontiac Catalina. They don't make 'em like that anymore
