What is the name of the highway that stretches across the American continents?

I believe the 'Americas' refer to North America, Central America & South America...which would, of course, include Canada.

The Darien Gap makes this a nonsense. There is a road which starts in Norway and finishes in Australia. It's complete except for the gap caused by the ocean.

If the Canadian roads are signed it’s probably not right to call it a Pan American network. And if the American highways are “ intestate” who will inherit?

I'd love to travel it from bottom to top.
