In Australia, in the 1960's, the sloppy Joe was a very loose, almost baggy, sweater.

I grew up in Canada knowing this as a sloppy Joe. It was in the US they were calling it a manwich, based on a brand name that comes as a sauce in a can. Sloppy joes are made with special seasoning and tomato paste. The taste is markedly different than a manwich….. but maybe that’s just me. 😅
