I knew that the fear of thunder (but not lighting was brontophobia. Many dogs have it. The same derivation as Brontosaurus, thunder lizard.

I love thunder and lightning and, living in the Scottish Highlands, there were big open spaces. You could see the lightning miles and miles away. One day we were watching a storm that had passed directly over us. There was a big rock with some sheep around. I suffered with this until a few year’s ago I discovered why I was so scared. When I was about 6 years old we went on holiday to Butlins , while there my mum & dad arranged to go on a helicopter ride, my grandparents took myself and my sisters back to the chalet, not long after there was a horrendous thunderstorm 😱 I was terrified my parents were going to be struck by lightning. Luckily it was cancelled and they were fine , thank goodness

The big flashes of lightning and the almighty thunder but since being caught out in a really bad storm whilst driving home one night, it terrified me half to death. Now I head straight for the bottom of the stairs and close the door til it passes
