What is thunder?

The temporary deafness can last for at least a couple of hours or more. I know from experience. The lightning strike was a stone's throw away. Dust from the ground and explosion of thunder was instantaneous. Luckily, I was in a bus passing by as it happened

I Always thought that thunder was two clouds hitting each other. I love watching the lightning storms at the Airport where I work.
