Knodel1966, I believe they are one of the best surviving creatures and were around when dinosaurs were alive, survived the Ice Age, so probably not dependent on humans

Do they have a brain? Can they survive 10 days without brain?

Player #11536780, they have such a small brain and their bodies are mostly dependant upon multiple nerve clusters throughout them, so they don't really need the tissue in their head to operate.

Online sources say a week or less. Ten days is just wrong. Cool question if the answer wasn't wrong.

The only good cockroach is a dead one IMHO (just kidding, I know they're useful creatures; I just wish they wouldn't come into the house & terrorise me🤪) Actually, indigenous Australian cockies stay out in the garden & bush where they belong...

Sorry, don't care if it's 5, 7, 10 days -it is still remarkable. Although I wish they weren't so common.

they are my one one phobia.. not long ago I had a nice little surprise after taking something off my balcony but I actually didn't react with cold sweats and fear as much this time. I actually think that I've learnt to appreciate and respect the insect world more in the last decade since the insect populations around the world have decreased dramatically.
