Which insects build this construction?

That has to be the biggest ant hill ever.

A visit to Godshill in the New Forest Hampshire England may convince you of the amount of Pine needles the clever little blighters can shift in 1day. I lived there betwixt 2 nests , each over 2ft high. I believe that there was a War between Red Ants and Others...in late 40's
