What is the ability to identify a note on the musical scale without a single reference point called?
Correct answer: Perfect pitch

Kiwozzie
I have it, but get it wrong sometimes, but my youngest son who has ASD gets it right every time. You can just play a note and he knows it, or knows what the base chords are too. He is phenomenal.

Kiwozzie, how can you have perfect pitch when you get it wrong sometimes? That's not perfect pitch then, is it? Perfect would be correct 100% of the time.

I know nothing about music 🤣👍

It helps if you learned a musical instrument and to read music at an early age. I have no problem with this.

A gift I wish I had, and are jealous of those that do.

Smeeg, Since having this ability is so rare describing it like that would hardly expect to generate objections that is 100% perfect. !!!🤔

I got told at an audition at 18 that I have absolute pitch. I previously had not heard that term.

The wonderful Joyce Grenfell had perfect pitch. She was a niece of Nancy Astor

I feel this question is not quite correct.
