Why do Christians around the world celeberate Christmas on two different dates?
Correct answer: Different calendars

Marcy
Christmas the happiest month of the year in Phillipines

Travel Lady
AndyV5615, no Easter comes from the Jewish feast of Passover which is not pagan

Lorraine
Tanmay, 6th January is celebrated as Christmas and the giving of gifts in Spain too.

AndyV5615
The Christians stole most of the pagan festivals. If Easter was the anniversary of the crucifixion it would be on the same day every year, like Christmas. Easter comes from the pagan feast of Ostara.

Jesus was most probably born in the spring, not winter. Lambs and going to pay rent(as Mary and Joseph were doing) happens in spring.

Hanora
There is no known date for when Jesus ws born. Christmas came about because winter solstice was being celebrated around the world (indulgently). Bishops were afraid their followers would take part in those festivities ( specifically pagan), sooo wallah, they adopted the day and made it about Christianity.

I'm impressed that in the 1500s, they could find an 11 minute discrepancy.

Mars V, You may want to do some independent study on the subject. Pegan & Druid celebrations pre-date Christianity.

Bengarrion
Travel Lady , NO! Easter replaced the pagan druitic feast of Eastre or Eastron!

Byrde Alpha Bitch
Travel Lady & AndyV5615, It is a bit of both.

So since it’s been over 400 years the Julian calendar should have changed by adding 3 days and that would currently make it January 10th.
