Actually in the south we just use hotdogs. When dipped in batter they are called Dip Dogs. When dipped in corn meal they are called Corn Dogs. Both are great.

Renoir Zebe, we make them like that here in the U. S. also, But still call them corn dogs, Dagwood's remind me of the comic strip Blondie, Dagwood was Blondie's husband and his huge sandwich, became known as a "Dagwood" lol
