When I was younger, and old man I knew once gave me some "head cheese" and told me I would love it;
After trying it ONCE, I decided I would never eat it again!
I never have, and just the name of it being mentioned in my presence makes my stomach roil!
hi
Ewa, Apologies, but it is just a name for a food. Complete use of an animal that you eat is the omnivore diet. Vegetarians miss the point, You cannot exist without the complete interaction of everything, plant, animal, fungi.

Growing up in south Louisiana my dad and grandfather were butchers. In the Cajun culture you didn’t waste anything. My dad would boil the head and neck of a pig to make “Hog head cheese “ and also the shoulders to make his famous boudin. Loved the boudin but didn’t dare try the cheese 😃

That's just gross!! I'm so glad I'm a vegetarian. The Govt (USA) let's the food producers of our country, play with our lives. You want to know why chicken is so pink and juicy? Because it has arsenic in it. The USDA says that "it's acceptable level". FACT

love to eat the meat right off the pigs skull. texture is a definite difference in this manner. I do not, can not, and will not be eating head cheese.

When I was about 9, my friend's mother made us head cheese sandwiches because she was feeling peevish (we bugged her for some lunch). She wouldn't allow us to leave the table until we ate every bite. We did, then ran outside and threw up. Ugh!
