Which of these is a doctorate degree?

I know a lot of people with a PhD. Very often you could class them as "all brains, no common sense".

toe jam, People with PhDs are said to hold a doctorate, and entitled to use the title "Dr." be called Doctor. The medical sort don' t have to have that high a qualification and for them it is merely a courtesy title. It is infuriating when they try to claim _they_ are the real "doctors". They aren't. It's a different qualification.

In the UK an M.Phil. is also a research degree. An M.A. or M.Sc. are taught qualifications, and any dissertation required does not have to be a work of original research.. But an M.Phil.is acquired purely for a substantial thesis and it must be a contribution to original research. Common sense is not mentioned in the regulations.

PhD student next door to us has zero communication skills.
