Orangutans live only on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. They are critically endangered. Unsustainable logging for agriculture has stripped the land of trees. Orangs are a canopy-dwelling species and they need forests to survive. Orangutan babies are actually being trafficked for the exotic pet trade. The World Wildlife Fund keeps guards on them as much as possible. People did not do this to wild animals fifty years ago. Selfishness and greed have taken over the whole world.

mousie4, you are absolutely correct by definition an island is surrounded by water which Australia certainly is. Indonesia is made up of hundreds of islands.
