What is Belonephobia the fear of?
Correct answer: Fear of needles

I'm a medical lab tech and draw blood on several patients per day. Nobody likes it, and some people are more anxious than others, but I suspect the full-blown phobia is a lot more rare (fortunately) than the explanation suggests. Most people cope with it okay, given a patient, empathetic approach.

Player #88369805, Trypanophobia is fear of medical procedures that involves needles, quite a similar concept!

Player #88369805, trypanophobia is a fear of medical procedures involving needles, while belonephobia is an irrational fear of needles in general.

Wannabe Vulcan, I concur. I worked as a phlebotomist and a lab tech. I used needles ranging in size from 22 to 16 gauge. While many people would be anxious, I never once came across a full-tilt phobia.

Aussie, okay, but what does the “belo” stand for? Presume it’s Latin, guess I can Google it!?
