Castra, Yeah, you're right about the fruit flies, there are also Colorado Beetles and Boll Weevils. We still can't live without the good ones though.

Possibly only in tropical or sub-tropical regions.
In Australia, there were border guards at state crossings.
No fruit was allowed to cross state lines, all fruit was confiscated and destroyed.
This was in the 1960's and 70's.
It's probably the same now.

Flies actually are animals. Love them or hate them, only bees pollinate more plants and they are a vital part of the food chain.
