How are domesticated canines more commonly known?

sometimes bad behaved men are called dogs. they are sent to the doghouse until further notice.

They are mutts owned by really emotionally needy people.

The canine/ canid does not have to be domesticated. It’s a dog even if it’s wild or feral.
