Unfortunately, too many terrible folks, have held/currently hold, political office. Strom Thurmond was one of them. Although he did good things for South Carolina from an economic standpoint, his racist policies are what defined his time in office. The fact that he provided support for the child he fathered is not especially noteworthy. It's the least he could have done.

PanhandleGuy, I'm from South Carolina. He started out pandering to his base like most politicians but he loved South Carolina and helped a lot of people of all races for a long time. Had a staff that was second to none.
