What is a glockenspiel?

I play the glockenspiel in my death metal band "eumeualot ". We might be coming to your town this summer, so keep a monocle out for us!!!

Dorothy, Look at marching bands at college football halftimes; they're often with the drum corp.

Picture looks more like a larger professional lire/lyre. I have seen xylophones that have 'plates' (metal bars) not wooden blocks. Sound of horse gallops.

I have heard of that but I don't know what it looks like.
