my grandfather was murdered by the Japanese as a prisoner of war in Borneo in a place called Sandakan. Along with other allied soldiers, mainly Australian and British. Out of 1400 only 6 survived. Check it out.

I don't think the surrender of Japan was unconditional. There was some war loot transactions that happened between Japan and the US, mostly involving gold and diamonds.

DelightfullyLearn, Until the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour the USA made no contribution to the Allies . They did however sell materiel to Britain at very expensive prices to the extent that Britain only paid them off in about 2010. Can’t really call that “a contribution “
