It is said that sociopaths do not normally yawn when someone else does. It is thought to be an empathy thing, and since sociopaths are incapable of feeling empathy, they don't yawn when others do. So if you suspect someone, yawn around them and see what happens!

nimblemoon, I think I read once that goes back to our days living in caves. When oxygen was low we'd yawn to increase blood oxygen to our brains, so if one person needed it the rest of us probably did too.
Dogs do it because they've been domesticated and by our sides for so long they they learned the same self preservation strategy.
