What was the first predominantly black show on American TV?
Correct answer: Amos ’N’ Andy

Player Meyer
I never understood why it was deemed unacceptable. It showed hard working black people of various occupations (lawyer, cab driver, secretary, doctor, nurse, teacher). They lived in nice comfortable homes, obeyed the laws, and dressed well. It was hilarious. I see watch old tapes of the shows.

My father really enjoyed Amos and Andy! Player Meyer, I agree with you.
