I remember as a young child watching it being built. Before that people took the Staten Island ferry to go back and forth between Staten Island and Brooklyn for 25 cents. I still remember the first time my father, of blessed memory, drove us across...I think it was only a quarter for the toll.

Run the NYC marathon and you'll never forget this! Race starts by crossing the bridge from SI to Brooklyn and on through the Five Boroughs!

This was a no-brainer for me. I was a kid and living on Staten Island when the bridge was built.

I've never been to NYC but I've known of that bridge forever. Love the name.
