Which TV series was originally pitched as "Wagon Train to the Stars"?

It is amazing how a low budget show that only lasted for three years made such a lasting impact and still has so many fans. It was also the first show that had several races represented in the main characters and also had a woman in an officer role.

I guessed because "wagon train" has an American west frontier sound. And
