Queeny, How do you not know this as a vet? I am a Navy vet and know this very well. I guess they don't teach this to the younger generation.

Queeny, I am a proud son of a Korean War vet and I knew this. Let's teach proper flag etiquette in school again, where I learned this.

Learned this in an episode of Black Sheep Squadron. They got taken over before the the General was to visit the island and they flew the flag upside down to signal something was wrong.

Just out of curiosity I read the flag code many years ago. The flag or it's facsimile is not to used as clothing. Shirts, pants, etc. It is not to be displayed horizontally yet the military do it before all football games. Against flag code to fly to draw attention to a business. A lot of insurgents on the Capital had it upside down. Guess they were warning of great destruction about to ensue.

coppertonedragon, The Castle is a great film! Robert Redford and the late James Gandolfini (RIP), along with great supporting cast, portrayed their characters brilliantly! If I'm not mistaken, Robert Redford produced and directed it as well.
