What kind of birds are in the picture?

The Roman's would use them to sentry their camps. The geese would make an awful commotion if an intruder approached.

Our geese are predominantly Canada geese. They made a big mess on campus until we brought in a dog service to chase them. No geese were hurt and the dog had fun.

CyanJaguar62, glad to know the geese weren't hurt. I love watching geese and ducks as they make their migration. messing droppings, yes. but their in flight stops are necessary and temporary.

CyanJaguar62, laugh, I am surprised that the geese didn't attack the dog! Maybe because they could fly? I had geese for years and they were really quite vicious to strangers.
