Which of these is worn under a skirt or a dress to give them a volume?

Amazing how much fashion evolved throughout the time, how many things changed. I somehow love that era, it was lovely and very respectful to look like a real lady... not comfortable though 😅😉

Julia, a petticoat was long bloomers. They wore slips. A-line and “full” slips that puffed out at the waist. I know bc that’s how we dressed in the 1950s and 60s
