Queen Victoria was a person that wanted to have control over her children, when they got married , she wants to interfere in their lives, like forcing them to baptize their children adding Albert and Victoria. I am pretty sure that if she could control them in other matters she would have done so. Prince Albert was already sick when he went to visit his son Edward, when they found out that the other students brought a young lady to his room. Prince Albert was a puritan, sex was only to procreate.

Anya, And do you have anything useful to contribute on the subject of Karim? If not, why tell us? Just boasting! Most people of British ancestry descend from Edward III - but we dont go round curtseying to each other!

A very good book. My observation on the relationship is Victoria was incredibly lonely after her husband's death and she was a voracious learner. Her Indian servant was both a companion and expanded her knowledge toward her subjects, who she barely knew.

No need for quotation marks around a person’s name unless it’s also the name of a book or movie, etc.
