What is Antarctica?

Marcy, Antarctica is land mass, sometimes identified as the largest island. The arctic (north pole area) is not a land mass it has an ocean below the ice. There are areas of land, parts of Russia, Scandinavia, Canada, etc that extend well into the arctic region. But the arctic is not a continent nor a single land mass. Antarctica is.

Very interesting but not a place for me as I don't like cold atmosphere. It's beautiful to look at from a distance.

Antarctica is the best place to see Emperor Penguins 🐧 that I like to travel one day if by chance.

Scientists theorize that billions of years ago there was only one large mass of land with cracks in the crust. Continents were formed over billions of years by pieces of this land moving apart. They also think the continents are still shifting very slowly and may some day become one mass again. op ed: Only time will tell and humans probably won't be here.

is Antarctica like North pole or saud to be the Coldest so humans cant be there for a long time

marimargo, actually there is good evidence for this and it is accepted as fact by most scientists

marimargo, and humans weren’t here when it started either. Yet we swear we know what happened. I do agree scientist need billions of years in order for their theories to work.
