It’s a shame that Mayan and Aztec cultures were destroyed by Spanish and Portuguese conquests and settlers. The world lost so much knowledge, arts, craft and scientific achievements that were known to these people. The atrocities the South Americans faced was next level and there is very little narration on this outside of their countries. Reparations or at least admittance of wrong doing must be done to come clean and seek pardon for the irreparable harm done on the native folks.

I remember the Aztec bar, it was nougat and caramel covered in chocolate, a bit like the mars bar, and had a purple wrapper.

Then it crossed with sugar, etc. and now look what they gave us. Love it the darker, the better.

Supposedly, mole poblano was invented by poor nuns who wanted to feed a special guest. They made a sauce with what they had on hand, including chiles, cacao, and nuts, and it was a success. (Personally I think the dark mole made with cacao/chocolate is awful.)
