littlepuppy, I went thru the one in1989, during the Battle of the Bay. Lived in Ft Ord, CA, 30 miles from the epic center. I've been thru quite a few of them since I'm from the "City by the Bay.""

Was exploring 'wild' caves in PERRY County Missouri. We met with the farmer whose land the cave was in\on and he showed us a LARGE pond that was about 6' lower than 8 hrs. earlier that morning. Said he called his Grandfather at the urging of his wife. Grandfather told him that happened once before about 2 days before that 1906 earthquake. We avoided his cave since we could hear water 'rushing' just inside the entrance. ( Coincidence? ) The Big One '90s style happened
