I'm 85 and still bite my nails. habits are hard to break.

Bit mine for over 50 yrs. So happy to have conquered this as of 3yrs ago. It is amazing to have fingernails now, I just never even realized it before!

First time I tasted chilli was 60 years ago after my mother somehow found some chilli oil to paint on my fingernails to stop me biting them.(Pepper in the gravy was considered exotic in Australia's overcooked meat and 3 well boiled vegetable culture back then) Only stopped when I almost went blind from it getting in my eyes. Strangely enough I find food too bland without some form of chilli now.

The “-phagy “ was the giveaway as normally a “-phage” describes something that eats a specific thing . I bit my nails through my childhood and then just stopped . Probably the fingers were getting too sore.
